Executive Director’s Message for Silver Star Tower Magazine (5th Anniversary Celebrations):
Silver Star Tower has transcended a brand to become an icon with a strong reputation to uphold.

Reaching this enviable position wouldn’t have been possible if the management of Silver Star Tower hadn’t exercised a high level of discipline to make the tower the well organized corporation it is today.

With a keen enforcement of operating rules and regulations for parking, generator use, transparent meter reading, signage policy and maintenance, we have over the years succeeded in ensuring that our tenants enjoy the full benefits of our facility.

This has made Silver Star Tower the most habitable place for businesses and a market leader in the commercial office industry.

Silver Star Tower has chalked five years of success, spanning 2005 to 2010. This is proven by the tower’s 100% occupancy rate.

In the coming years, we will make significant strides to raise Silver Star Tower to the topmost echelon with a continuous improvement of our offerings. This will ensure that the facility continues to enjoy its current leadership
position.

We hope that our tenants and future tenants benefit from this anniversary brochure which will serve as an effective medium in propagating their businesses to the rest of Ghana (we encourage our tenants to give inhouse discounts).

To keep ahead of the competition, we will soon introduce a 4.5 meter wide LED display at Silver Star Tower, currently the most prominent location at Airport City, the uptown of Accra.

For the launch of the new way of banking by Standard Chartered Bank (The SCB Way)

We’ve never stopped improving, even with our over 150 years of expertise and experience in banking. That’s why a few years ago, a single idea, the SCB way travelled miles across the Middle East to change the face of banking and make lives better.
The journey of the SCB way of life began with Dubai, the Land of the Emirates where it has since been a success story. The torch was then passed on to Incredible India, where the SCB way of life was once more embraced by the banking populace.
The SCB way spotlight is now on Africa, the continent with high potential and huge promise. It first landed in East Africa, in The Republic of Kenya receiving wide applause and acceptance.
Now the mantle has been passed on to the Land of Gold, the country destined to place Africa highly on the globe, Ghana.
Together, let’s welcome this new move. With all hands on deck and tools at work. Believing that together we can beat the market. That together we can rise above our peers in ways never before imagined.
That together, we can tell the story better, in new and exciting ways that delight our number one fan, our customer. That together we can lead the way for a major transformation in banking, whether here or abroad.
Whatever way we need, however long it takes, it must come alive. The future of banking must come alive. And it starts with us.
The Standard Chartered Bank Way. Beat The Market.

The weirdest places Ghanaian musicians get their lyrics from.
(Please note that this is a completely fictional article)
A little bird told me that the people who wow us with all manner of musical lyrics got them in the weirdest of places. So I together with the rest of my team hit the streets in an attempt to unravel the real truths behind that glamourously looking act of serving people with that hot stuff called music…. and the revelations? Uniquely interesting.
We headed to the humble abodes of some of our popular Ghanaian musicians to find out exactly where they find inspiration to string some words together into the lovely music tunes we enjoy today.
Our first stop was at Kwaw Kesse’s residence. He was busily sipping on a hot cup of creamy coffee when our cameras caught up with him. “In the bathroom”, he said. “When I really need to give my fans music they will relish forever, I just close my eyes and boom, the words start coming to me. As many words that come, I give my first shot and voila, the rest follow like magic”.
For Mzbel, it is the dire moment of chatting with her girlfriends that she gives her that kick. She gets big on inspiration whilst her friends are getting big on a hearty conversation.
A typical line for her would be; Girl says: “And the guy just stared and stared and stared. At that moment, I knew he wanted me back but it was too late. I had grown into a fully fledged tree whose fruits were ready to be plucked by many, and there was no way I was going to give way to old flames”.
At this point, sexy fashionable Mzbel known in private circles as Nana Akua Adoma, soaks in these conversation lines and begins to mentally weave her lyrics around them.
Wanlov Kubolor told us he gets high on inspiration whilst getting his hair done at the saloon. “Every braided strand brings along with it a whole new exciting perspective to life. It gets me buried in deep thought which culminates in the profound lyrics I use in my songs”.
For the forever elegant looking Eazzy, the words hit at her whilst she’s taking a long ride around town in her sleek, black Toyota Fortuner. “I take note of everything happening around me whilst I’m on the move. I make sure to not lose sight of anything because you might never know where the inspiration could come trickling in”.
Well for those of you who’ve always thought that someone just gets up, goes to a recording studio and begins rattling a few words into a song, it’s time to rethink and imbibe a fresh perspective such as this.
Just so you know, we are still discovering the magical places of several other Ghanaian musicians, so stay glued to your TV set and don’t flip that dial.
